A new RTE TV show is giving young guitarists the chance to shred their way to winning a Rory Gallagher tribute edition of the legendary Fender Stratocaster. The Guitar is a talent show featuring 15 guitarists from all over Ireland, competing against each other in order to prove their worth and win the sought-after guitar.

Auditions are taking place all over Ireland, with the Belfast leg to take place at Marcus Music on Royal Avenue next Thursday, April 23 from 4-7pm. The competition is open to guitarists who will be aged 17 or under on October 1 2009. Plus, if you can’t make the audition you can upload a sample of your playing to the show’s website (going live tomorrow, April 15) and still be in with a chance.
