It’s been a busy week for Northern Irish bands, as both General Fiasco and Escape Act have put pen to paper with labels. Mid-Ulster trio General Fiasco have ended months of speculation as to their future by signing to Infectious Records, the recently revived label that launched the careers of Ash, My Vitriol and The Subways. Meanwhile, another trio, Belfast’s Escape Act, have signed with Edinburgh label 17 Seconds, who count indie-pop band Aberfeldy among their roster. The first fruit of this partnership will be a single, ‘God Says’, which featured on last year’s self-released debut album Loosely Based On Fiction. The single is out on June 1, backed with remixes by Exmagician (aka Cashier No.9 guitarist James Smith) and Uber Gliteratti. Well done to both bands.
