Things have been somewhat quite on the Hercules And Love Affair front this year – we assume they’ve been working on new material, since their live set at last year’s Electric Picnic boasted plenty of brand new disco ass-shakers. And with Andy Butler putting together a compilation album as part of the new Sidetracked series, you can hear a sneak preview of what they’ve been up to, as well as getting an insight into their influences. The double CD – one mixed, one unmixed – will be released on July 13 through the Renaissance label.

Butler said, “I am excited by this compilation to realize two ends: it’s a slamming mix with tracks that have historically made me freak out in the club, along with new productions – including my Hercules & Love Affair exclusive.” If you’re a fan of Hercules, the James Murphy & Pat Mahoney Fabric mix or just disco and house in general, this will be worth a look.
