No Age Announce New EP
30th July 2009

No Age, those filthy, dirty purveyors of blissed-out punk, have announced details of an EP to follow up last years’s excellent Nouns LP. Entitled Losing Feeling, the four track release will be out on October 5 on vinyl or download, but not CD, which is a decent sign of the times. As with Nouns, the band’s label Sub Pop will do the honours.

Speaking to Pitchfork a couple of months ago, guitarist Randy Randall hinted that the EP will go in a slightly more experimental direction than the band have been known for thus far. “It’s more sample-based,” he said. “We’re still using guitar and drums, but it’s just a way of working around it, working in more of a sort of… not synthetic, but more electronic-sounding thing. I don’t know how you can say ‘electronic’ without it sounding like ‘electronic music’. But it’ll have loop- and sample-based arrangements.” Intriguing, no?
