OK, so they’ve only released two four-track EPs so far, but there is enough in those eight songs to suggest the arrival of an almighty talent. South London duo Kai Campos and Dom Maker slot alongside the likes of Joy Orbison and Darkstar in this whole dubstep-not-dubstep thing. The two EPs are surprisingly different from each other, though, as you can hear from the title tracks below. For me, Maybes is the pick – it’s just beautifully produced, with a gurgling, underwater quality and some incredible percussion and drum programming. Sketch On Glass is more upfront and immediate, displaying a love for squiggly synths. The pair recently blogged that they are hard at work on new material, so hopefully 2010 will be just as fruitful, if not more. An album would be lovely.
