A touring exhibition by London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, Street Art: Contemporary Prints From The V&A traces the development of street art by examining the work of renowned street artists including D*Face, Shepard Fairey, Miss Tic and the ever-ubiquitous Banksy. Running until 4 March, 2012, at Belfast’s Ulster Museum, it’s proving to be an in-depth exploration of street art from the dawn of civilized man to its many modern incarnations in our city streets, bus shelters and beyond. More than anything, though, it scrutinizes how street art has distanced itself from the painted wall towards the medium of printmaking.
