Having made a name for themselves by restlessly touring these last few years, Belfast punk-blues duo The Bonnevilles have clearly evolved from the roots of a sound reminiscent of many before them towards a refined approach that could even be called distinctive. A madcap composite of bastardised slide blues, whiskey-guzzling R’n'B and frantic rampages best seen on itle track and album closer ‘Hardtale Lurgan Blues’, Good Suits And Fightin’ Boots is an accurate though, at times, mechanical reflection of Chris and Andy’s righteous efforts to get you fretting less and moving more. This is the sound of Jon Spencer, Bob Log III and The Black Keys jamming, having spent the last couple of months spacing around Belfast. Brian Coney
