A track from The Quarter Inch Collective’s upcoming Quompilation #2 is now available to stream online. A cover of Kavinsky’s ‘Nightcall’ by producer Simon Bird (above), it’s a hugely promising sign of what’s in store for the Dublin-based independent label’s second cassette-only release of upcoming Irish artists covering some of their favourite songs from 2011. Better still, it will be launched on Dublin’s Crawdaddy on 27 January involving as “many bands as we can fit on stage”; door tax is €10 and if you’re down early enough, you should get a free cassette upon entry!
