It’s been a while since Canadian electronic pop duo Junior Boys’ second album So This Is Goodbye – 30 months to be exact – but the wait is to be over in May, when follow-up Begone Dull Care is due for release. After two albums – the first being 2004’s Last Exit - where critics have fallen over themselves to lavish praise on the pair, expectations are high, and a preview track available on label Domino’s website is available to give you a taster. ‘Parallel Lines’ is the opening track on the album and follows STIG opener ‘Double Shadow’ in contrasting Jeremy Greenspan’s smooth vocal with a tough, electronic crunch. And there’s a belter of a chorus in there as well. It’s a typically serious proposition from the pair and bodes well for the record, due on May 11.
