All through their relentless gigging this year (180+ gigs and counting), north coast destroyers And So I Watch You From Afar have been incorporating a few new songs into the set. The monstrous studio version of ‘S Is For Salamander’ got its radio debut last night on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show, and now ‘D Is For Django The Bastard’ is due for an official release. On November 23, Big Scary Monsters Records (home to the excellent Tupolev Ghost, Adebisi Shank, Pulled Apart By Horses and more) will put out a limited edition (of 100) split 3″ CD featuring that track and ‘Bethlehem’ by Hereford six-piece Talons, another instrumental band but one that boasts not one but two violinists.
The two bands will be going out on tour together next Spring. Expect a new ASIWYFA album in May 2010 as well, and don’t forget their Ulster Hall, Belfast show on December 18. Meanwhile, the band prepare to tour Eastern Europe on their own and then the UK in support of Oceansize, all before Christmas. My god.
