Daniel Day Lewis ‘astonished’ by Jonny Greenwood

Radiohead guitarist‘s soundtrack ‘absolutely amazed’ Oscar-winner

Daniel Day Lewis, who plays an arrogant, scheming and paranoid oil magnate in There Will Be Blood has lauded praise upon Jonny Greenwood’s score for the movie. The Oscar winner was present when Greenwood mixed the music, “He recorded it with the BBC Symphony orchestra at Abbey Road and I came over while he mixed it. It was a day I will never forget. I was absolutely amazed. I believed that music had grown with us, that we’d all grown together in the telling of that story. I was astonished by it”. Greenwood, who was originally recruited to Radiohead to play harmonica previously performed the soundtrack for Simon Pummell’s movie Bodysong. Paul Thomas Anderson’s eight-times Oscar-nominated epic opens on Friday (15 February).
