Duke In Radio Specials
NI troubadour in conversation with Stuart Bailie / Co-present on ATL
Duke Special will be hitting the airwaves in the coming week with appearances on the forthcoming editions of BBC Radio Ulster’s Across The Line and The Late Show with Stuart Bailie First up, this Friday, October 10, the Duke joins Stu Bailie to discuss new album I Never Thought This Day Would Come. In addition Peter will be playing some of his own tracks, plus selections from Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, German anthems and some ‘interesting’ ragtime.
During the show Duke Special will be talking about the curious instruments employed on the record, his determination to avoid making ‘Songs From The Deep Forest Part Two’ and refusal to be constrained by expectation, “I hate being pigeonholed. I love the freedom to step out of genres into other ones. I’ve always hated people thinking they know what they’re getting. I love the fact that people of all ages love the music and can relate to it in some way.”
Presenter Stuart Bailie said, “It’s always a pleasure to speak to Duke Special and to hear about his latest escapades. While other artists might have be been wilting with the workload, Peter is actually getting more creative under pressure.”
On Monday October 13 it’s the turn of ATL to host the Duke as he joins Rigsy for an exceptional co-present, that will include not only chat but some live tracks. Not to be missed
