After a summer that has seen her stock rise to stratospheric proportions, with a Mercury-nominated, UK and Ireland #2 album and huge festival crowds (not least at Oxegen and last weekend’s Electric Picnic), Florence and The Machine have announced a brace of Irish shows for early December. The group, led by 22-year-old Florence Welch, will play the Ulster Hall, Belfast on December 6 and the Olympia Theatre, Dublin on December 7. Support on both dates comes from the hotly-tipped The Temper Trap, and tickets go on sale this Friday (September 11) priced at £21 for Belfast and €24.50 for Dublin.
