Post-punk trio Future Of The Left’s weekend gigs in Belfast and Dublin have been postponed due to poor ticket sales. The band were due to play Belfast’s Stiff Kitten on Saturday night and Dublin on Sunday, but a highly frustrated Andy Falkous made the announcement of their postponements on Myspace this afternoon. “Ticket sales this far in advance of the record were incredibly slow and the venues (nb. not us – the VENUES) have decided to push them back,” he wrote. A spokesman for the Stiff Kitten confirmed the postponement of the Belfast gig and the reason. No date has been confirmed for the band’s return, but the autumn seems likely. The band’s storming new album Travels With Myself And Another (we’ve heard it; it’s incredible) is out on 4AD Records on June 22. The full text of Falkous’s Myspace blog is below.

We absolutely pain-in-the-ass already-paid-for-our-ferry-tickets hate
to inform you that the upcoming Dublin and Belfast shows have been
rescheduled for later in the year – ticket sales this far in advance
of the record were incredibly slow and the venues (nb. not us – the
VENUES) have decided to push them back.
Tickets, apparently, will be valid for rescheduled shows.
