James Allan, frontman of Glasvegas, has confirmed to the NME that the Scottish band have begun plotting the course of their second album. Production will once again be overseen by Rich Costey, knob twiddler for the quartet’s debut and, most recently, noted for his work on the forthcoming Big Pink debut.
Allan plans to build a home studio in which he will demo new material, “I’ve got to set up the equipment in the house. I don’t like the idea of going into a studio and spending one block of time there. I’ve got a good bond with Rich [Costey], I believe he’s got more in him than the first record.”
The Glasvegas man also stated that the new record will be less bleak than their first outing, ” I like to think that a lot of my thoughts and optimism are going towards being liberated.”
New song titles include the veritably life-affirming ‘Whatever Hurts You Through The Night’ and ‘Born To Die’.
