Alex Zane suspended from XFM

That Alex Zane, he’s crazzzeee. Why just look at him, with his scarecrow hair and knacker-crushing jeans. And now the little scamp has just gone and got himself suspended from his XFM Breakfast Show after playing a song he wrote about rape on air. We’re not professionally trained broadcasters but even we know that’s all kinds of wrong.

Entitled ‘I Won’t Take No For An Answer’, Zane’s little ditty was written in the style of one Mike Sarne, the man who recorded risqué numbers including ‘Come Outside’, ‘Dodgy Looking Bird’ and ‘Code Of Love’.

XFM released the following statement: “On Wednesday morning, the breakfast show broadcast an item that, in the view of station management, was distasteful and likely to cause offence. As a result, the breakfast team has been suspended, pending a formal disciplinary process. A full apology was broadcast on air at 7.20am on Thursday. We are sorry for any offence caused”.
