Record label Universal is on the lookout for some pious people to sing on an album of Gregorian chants. Readers of The Catholic Times, The Catholic Herald and other fine religious publications are being invited to apply for the role, with “monks, men of the cloth and sacred singers” being asked to send in audition tapes.
Universal Classics and Jazz MD Dickon Stainer said, “Our aim is to reach singers from outside the X Factor generation”. The label’s A&R man, Tom Lewis added, “We are all very excited about what these adverts may unearth.”
