AU favourites The Cribs have been announced as headliners for the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour, with the supporting acts Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong, Does It Offend You, Yeah? and The Ting Tings to complee the line up, it has been announced.
When quizzed about the upcoming show, Ryan Jarman of The Cribs said: “It feels so exciting. Whenever I go on tour I say I’m going to war – and this is a very exciting war!” The tour is well-known for its taste in the zeitgeist of new talent, with the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Klaxons, Arctic Monkeys and The Killers having played in previous iterations.
The associate editor of NME, Dan Silver is pleased: “The NME Awards tour has earned a deserved reputation for unearthing the hottest new talent around and this year is no exception. 2008 promises to be an amazing year for live music and we’re thrilled that these bands will be leading the charge.”
