Time For Some Girl Talk
Greg Gillis new album now available
Since last album Night Ripper, Pittsburgh producer Gillis aka Girl Talk has quit his day job as a biomedical engineer for full-time sample-splicing and created his next installment of “new pop from old pop”. New album Feed The Animals is another rip-snorting, party soundtrack that mashes together a bizarre assortment of tunes. Where Night Ripper included 164 artists in its 40 minutes, Feed The Animals is a fully expanded step towards pop musicality with 300+ samples in 50 minutes. Aural delights include Roy Orbison duetting with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Rage Against the Machine thrashing out next to Tony Basil and Avril Lavigne and Michael Jackson alongside Salt ‘n’ Pepa. Also in the mix is everyone from Cat Stevens to 50 Cent, The Police to Vanilla Ice and Radiohead to the Beastie Boys.
In accordance with Gillis intention to “make it easier for people to get their hands on the music, which is my number one priority”, the album is already available on a Radiohead style pay-what-you-want basis. Click here.
The physical version of Feed The Animals arrives early October.
