Little Man Tate - What Your Boyfriend Said

Indie quartet Little Man Tate’s sixth single is something of a mixed bag. With a melody reminiscent of Razorlight’s ‘Stumble And Fall’ it’s hard to decide how much of this song really belongs to Little Man Tate, and how much belongs to every other indie band in Britain at the moment. The production is raw and basic, the vocals aren’t what you would call distinctive, and the lyrics are too cliched to be taken seriously, but that won’t stop you from enjoying what is a perfectly acceptable indie song. That is the problem though. It is acceptable. It is not amazing, not incredible, not even good. Just acceptable. Jaunty, jittery and more of the same. Aaron Stoops
