Here we have an Italian five-piece, called Canadians, who sound like the sort of woozy Scandinavian post-hardcore bands that the American label Deep Elm used to specialise in. Confused? It’s OK, there are enough summery hooks, blissful guitar melodies and languorous tempos buried in the fuzzy sound to quickly soothe any geography-based bewilderment. Call it stoner pop, call it shoegazer punk – whatever; just call it good. Lee Gorman
