Lite already have something of a following in Ireland, having toured a couple of times and played with a host of great bands here. A Japanese take on math-rock seems like just the thing the genre needs – some sort of twist on a formula that is increasingly easy to see through. Sadly, for the most part, this record is indistinguishable from a huge number of others. Some moments of humanity aside, it’s only the undeniable technical brilliance (such as the astonishing title track, which sounds like RHCP crossed with Deerhoof, only good, and ‘Solitude’s frankly silly key change) which will appeal to most listeners.
