Parka - Better Anyway

Jeepster

Parka are distinctive only in their ability to produce a song with absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever. To call latest single ‘Better Anyway’ generic, may imply there is a slim chance it might embody some of the more positive qualities of the pop-punk genre – a raw energy or perhaps some catchy anarchism.

Parka’s utterly substandard offering to the music world is manifested predominantly in annoyingly cockney accents repeatedly shouting ‘do-do-do-do’. Actual lyrics, when they make an appearance, are bland and uninspiring, just as the intended hooks of the song couldn’t reel in a goldfish with a suicide wish. The b-side ‘Road Back Home’ appears to be an attempt to ‘do’ heartfelt.

They are about as successful at heartfelt as Blink 182 ever were. Needless to say, this song is best avoided. Alice Quigley
