Having recorded an abundance of albums in acts including Pop Art and Smart Brown Handbag, the brothers Jeff and David Steinhart here release their eponymous debut as The Furious Seasons. It meanders along inoffensively with melodies and rhythms recycled throughout, creating a banal acoustic experience perfect for bourgeois dinner parties. Rays of lyrical light briefly pierce the overcast sound sphere, but far too briefly for the listener to break out the sunglasses and cocktails. Philip Taggart
