Here are three words to sum up the latest record by the Howling Hex: wilfully obtuse shite. With nine albums and two books under his belt, former Pussy Galore and Royal Trux man Neil Michael Hagerty now fronts The Howling Hex, and the band’s latest effort Earth Junk does little to enhance his back catalogue. By and large, the record features 10 tracks of spacey, hippy noodling that goes nowhere fast. The keys clank, the out of place guitars squeal and the only good thing this writer can say about this release is that at least it’s short. Edwin McFee
