On this, their fourth full-lengther, TMS have dropped the cod-psychedelia of their ‘Alive And Amplified’-era shenanigans, maturing into something less clownish but certainly more interesting. Borrowing more distinctly from the American rock ‘n’ roll songbook than before, there’s a distinctly countrified feel to the preponderance of acoustics and pally gang vocals (even breaking out the banjo at points) this time round, and a clutch of rather head-nodding ditties to avail of. From the nudging sense of humour and general hoedown atmosphere on show here, you can imagine this making a great tour record.
